| About me and my artwork: |
| I'm a self-taught artist who grew up on a farm raising and training animals, and teaching others how to work with animals. Thus, my past explains my ardent love of and preference for painting animals and wildlife to that of other subject matter. My style of creating art is Realism. This means that I create art that looks like real life, similar to looking like a photograph, but not necessarily photo-realism. Sometimes, however, I use a more painterly style, depending on the subject. I enjoy painting subjects from a close range. For example, I love to showcase animals eyes. It's through an animal's eyes that their personality is revealed. If an artist cannot make the eyes look real and alive, full of emotion, then they have utterly failed in depicting the animal. I am now trying to create paintings that include more landscape features, putting animals in their natural surroundings. |
