| About me and my artwork: |
"Man's dominion over beast and fowl is not a mandate to exploit but a charge of responsibility." author unknown
'I love animals, I always have... and painting them is my passion.'
I study, sketch and photograph all of the animals I paint, whether they are favorite farm animals, the exotic great cats, North American wildlife, or one of the canine or feline locals.
In my journey as an artist I have worked in several media, however soft pastel is the perfect medium for capturing the essence and personality of the animals and expressing my own personal vision.
When I’m not working in the studio or off visiting a farm or rescue, I enjoy painting plein air. My favorite themes are boatscapes, the lighthouses of Maine and the marshland.
A portion of the sales of my great cat paintings is donated to feline conservation centers. |
